We have a wealth of beaches on our doorstep.

From the sheltered sands of Looe Beach, Hannafore’s rockpools to the surf of Whitsand bay, the choice is yours

If you are feeling energetic, there are plenty of secret coves to find. Portnadler, Lantic Bay & Lansallos are all well worth the walk.

Further afield, the surfing beaches of the North Coast are worth a day trip too. Harlyn Bay, Constantine and Perranporth are all recommended

On Your Bike

There are some fantastic trails explore locally.

Lanhydrock NT Estate has bike hire, graded trails and a lovely play area perfect after a spin.

For more experienced riders, Cardinham Woods nr Bodmin offers ‘adrenaline junkies’ the perfect release. Again, a very good cafe is worth a stop serving wonderful cakes and lunches.

And finally the Camel trail, one of the top cycle trails in the country. The trail runs between Bodmin, Wadebridge & Padstow, with the Wadebridge to Padstow section being the most popular. Bike hire at all three points is available.

Local Attractions

There are a host of local attractions to explore, from the famous Eden Project to smaller animal sanctuaries including the Monkey Sanctuary and Porfell Wildlife Park.

The National Trust has a lots of interesting properties to explore. In addition, with the mild Cornish climate, there aresome beautiful gardens to visit too. Trebah with its own beach a personal favourite.

Yes, occasionally it does rain in Cornwall! However there are plenty of things to do. A local recommendation is to take the Looe Valley train. It runs approximately every hour between Liskeard and Looe.

Other ideas include exploring our two closest cities. Truro has a beautiful cathedral and Plymouth with its large shopping area, Barbican area and the spectacular Hoe overlooking Plymouth sound are both worth a trip.
